Dr. Bacon grew up in Woodslee and now resides in Kingsville. As a child, Dr. Bacon developed a fascination for math and science, and at 13 decided she wanted to be an optometrist. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Windsor before continuing her studies at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry, where she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2012.
During her doctorate, Dr. Bacon completed an externship in Ocular Disease and Therapeutics at the OMNI Eye Specialists in Baltimore, Maryland, and a Volunteer Internship Program with the Canadian National Institute for the Blind. Dr. Bacon is a full scope optometrist and enjoys seeing patients of all ages. Her interests include binocular vision therapy, ocular disease management, cataract assessments, contact lens fittings, and refractive surgery consultations.
When she isn’t examining patients, Dr. Bacon enjoys spending time with her spouse and young daughter. She loves the great outdoors and has a special interest in plant-based nutrition, as well as hiking, horseback riding, and dog agility training. She loves animals and has fostered several shelter dogs. Her family currently includes a rescued Catahoula Leopard Dog named Toby.
