Dr. Ricci was born and raised in Leamington and is proud to have the opportunity to help patients in her hometown. After earning her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Windsor, Dr. Ricci went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry, graduating in 2006. During her doctorate, she completed an externship in Ocular Disease and Therapeutics at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan.
Dr. Ricci joined the Erie Shores Eyecare team in 2006 and enjoys seeing patients of all ages. Her interests include refractive surgery consultations, contact lens fittings, cataracts diagnosis and management, assessing and treating binocular vision problems. She also enjoys treating ocular diseases, including keratoconus, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and age-related macular degeneration.
Over the course of her optometric career, Dr. Ricci has volunteered her optometric services in several countries including Haiti, India, and Mexico. Whenever she goes on a mission trip, Dr. Ricci organizes eye clinics and brings along hundreds of pairs of gently used eyeglasses, generously donated by our patients. Her efforts allow her to provide eye health and vision care to people who might otherwise go without.
When she isn’t caring for patients, Dr. Ricci spends time with her spouse and two grown children. She enjoys running, biking, snorkelling, scuba diving, and visiting local nature trails in Point Pelee National Park. She is also a member of the Rotary Club of Essex and has served as their Assistant Governor.
